About Us

Cutting Cake Patisserie is a Leeds-based chocolate- and cake-making business run by husband-and-wife team Mark Shipway and Nang Kham Mai.

We met at Thomas Danby College in Leeds where we were both studying craft baking, patisserie, and cake decorating. Kham Mai went on to gain further qualifications in chocolate and sugar technology, while Mark worked for four years at a local patisserie, helping to supply over 200 wedding cakes and many times that number of celebration cakes each year. We set up Cutting Cake together in May 2007.

We sell our cakes and chocolates at regular monthly markets and many one-off events. Below is our schedule for January-February 2012. For more information about any of these events, please contact us on 07737 642952. Do come and meet us!

  • Saturday 14th January: Headingley Deli Markey, outside the Arc bar, North Lane, Headingley, 9am-12.30pm
  • Saturday 21st January: Oakwood Farmers' Market, Oakwood clock, Roundhay Road, 9am-12.30pm
  • Sunday 5th February: Leeds Farmers' Market, open-air market area behind the bus station, 9am-12.30pm
  • Saturday 11th February: Headingley Deli Markey, outside the Arc bar, North Lane, Headingley, 9am-12.30pm
  • Sunday 12th February: We will be exhibiting at the I Do Wedding Exhibition at the LUFC Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road, Leeds, from 10a.m.-5p.m.  We have FREE tickets to give away for this event, please contact us if you would like us to send you one
  • Saturday 18th February: Oakwood Farmers' Market, Oakwood clock, Roundhay Road, 9am-12.30pm
