Cutting Cake Patisserie is a Leeds-based chocolate- and cake-making business run by husband-and-wife team Mark Shipway and Nang Kham Mai.

We met at Thomas Danby College in Leeds where we were both studying craft baking, patisserie, and cake decorating. Kham Mai went on to gain further qualifications in chocolate and sugar technology, while Mark worked for four years at a local patisserie, helping to supply over 200 wedding cakes and many times that number of celebration cakes each year.

Our aim at Cutting Cake Patisserie is to combine fine ingredients with artisan skills and personalised service, creating cakes and chocolates which look beautiful and taste delicious, on every occasion.

If you would like to find out more about any of our products, we can be contacted in any of the following ways (PLEASE NOTE Cutting Cake Patisserie will be closed during 2nd-16th August inclusive; we may not be able to respond to phone calls and emails during that fortnight):

  • In person: We work from home in Meanwood, Leeds.  You are welcome to make an appointment to visit us there, at a time which suits you, including evenings and weekends.  We are also nearly always at the following Farmers' Markets, but please phone beforehand if you want to be sure. All markets run from approx. 9 a.m. to midday.
    • First Sunday of every month: Leeds, George Street (behind the bus & coach station)
    • Second Saturday of every month: Headingley, outside the Arc, North Lane, Headingley (9 October, 13 November and 11 December 2010)
    • Third Saturday of every month: Oakwood, Oakwood Clock, junction of Roundhay Road and Princes Avenue
